Social Action
Sha’ar Zahav is committed to tikkun olam (repairing the world). Our Social Action Committee serves as a home base for community members looking for a way to engage in action, or for more support in work they’re already doing. We organize events, work in solidarity with affected communities, and participate in interfaith coalitions. Together, we will make our world more just, compassionate, and peaceful.
The Social Action Committee meets the first Monday of the month via zoom, from 6:00 – 7:30 pm. To join the meetings or learn more about us, please contact the committee co-chairs Neil Young or Nancy Wecker.

Sha’ar Zahav’s Social Action Group & Rabbi Copeland at RAC-CA 2019 Lobby Day
Reform Action Center lobby day in Sacramento! This is RAC-CA’s most powerful and transformative event of the year, bringing together the veteran grassroots lobbyists in our congregations with people who are new to this kind of civic participation, and everyone in between. There will be training, celebration of our wins so far, and most importantly, powerful meetings in which we promote the issues on the RAC-CA Summer 2019 Agenda. Join Rabbi Mychal and other Sha’ar Zahavnicks — help make our lobbying experience stronger and the energy we bring back to our congregational social justice work stronger as well!
