Journey to Judaism: A Discussion Group

At Sha’ar Zahav, we encourage you to explore the spiritual and life-affirming path of Judaism.  Whether you are interested in exploring conversion, want to connect to the Judaism of your partner, or want to deepen your own Jewish background, you are welcome.

Date: The fourth Monday of the month, from January 24 – June 27, 2022 on Zoom (January 24, February 28, March 28, April 25, May 23, and June 27)

Time: 7:00 – 8:30 pm

This discussion group will explore issues that arise for people who are considering, are in the process of, or have recently completed, converting to Judaism. Those with a Jewish parent (or parents), but raised with little or no Jewish experience and are interested in exploring their connection to Judaism are also welcome to attend. Topics will include questions of identity, community, and family. This group is not an introduction to Judaism course, but rather a place to ask questions and discuss issues with others who are also on this journey.

The group is facilitated by Sha’ar Zahav lay leaders, Ora Prochovnick and Rose Katz, with James Carlson. For further information, please contact Rose Katz.

Fee: There are no fees or membership requirements for this group.

Registration: If you’d like to register for Journey to Judaism, please email [email protected].
